The overall idea of Red steel was goldmine, if only Ubisoft pulled it off right the 1st time.

I actually think that since they success of the wii Ubi might actually put more effort into #2.

Give it online, take out sword fighting, give it controls as good as medal of honour heroes2 and I'm sold. If they had any ambition they would do that, because it does have great potential. Plus the first one sold great (well over a million I believe), so with a little more effort they could make a fat profit, but I doubt they'll make an awesome game.

Well, if they meant to cash in and toss out shovelware, we would have seen the sequel within a year of the original release. The development time of this one suggests they may actually be trying.

I'll admit the idea of it was pretty awesome like a new way to experience a shooter, not the greatest game but still awesome
and i may just pick up the second one

I think a lot has been learned about the wii remote since launch - if the controls can be capitalised on then there is potential in RS2 - or the entire game could be made pointless by the force unleashed...?
