| well indiviudual friend codes are an inconvienience for people like us who want to play with friends we know over the net. friend codes are fine for little kids, but for us more mature folk, we need a more solid friend system that supports the type of people we play online with. sure we might play online with some dude down the street, but playing with friends all over the world needs to be made easier.

| I play with people I know over the internet too. Through the PurePwnage TeamSpeak, I have at least a dozen friends in Australia, another dozen in England and another dozen scattered across the US, but I haven't found it too terribly troubling to add them on the DS. Granted, I will have to travel from my room to the living room to add them on the Wii. Don't worry, I agree that it COULD and probably SHOULD be easier, but I don't find it to be a huge disappointment in the scheme of things.

| well the point of a unified friends list, is so you can see what everyones up to, and then just dive straight into whatever game they happen to be playing. no messing around with other messaging services because it's all provided. thats the kind of service a dedicated gamer needs.

| I'm well aware of that you know. 360 is a future purchase for me. But that statment is pointless, it's a totally different console with totally different games.

| I think this is a big deal about nothing right now. I don't like the friend codes, but nothing in the question says you have specific friend codes for each title. It only says you will have a separate friend list or roster in each game. This really doesn't sound like a big deal. Hopefully you just pick the friends for that game out of the system's Address Book. Sounds reasonable to me. The question they asked and then the conclusion they drew from it just don't match up.

| Hmm no one had posted replies from Nintendo yet? I just got one today... "Hello, We have heard from various others like you letting us know how they felt regarding Nintendo's implementation of Friend Codes in the Wi-Fi Connection service for Wii. I want you to know that we appreciate your passion and concern. Let me assure you that your concerns have been heard and will be forwarded along. As always, keep an eye on our website (www.nintendo.com) for the latest developments in Wi-Fi gaming as they are made available. Nintendo of America Inc. R.M. Rickets" To sum it up "Yeah, everyone's pretty pissed... we'll pass it along. Check out our site!" Also, I think their response pretty much confirms that they plan on having game-specific codes... |

| I just got mine too, and (surprise!) it was exactly the same. This is a disappointment.

| I don't see how you got that at all. He said they are using friend codes with the Wi-Fi connection which we all knew. Nothing I have seen so far indicates that their will be game specific friend codes. Though the original article says game specific codes the actual quote only says game specific rosters/lists. Can anyone show me anything that says to the contrary? Until then I'm going to believe they wouldn't be stupid enough to do it.
