Official Super Smash Bros. Brawl Thread

A rumour circulated around the internet that a European release date of June 6 was revealed by a Nintendo of Europe representative at the Micromania Game Awards in February 19, however, on February 20, a representative of Nintendo UK later dismissed the date as "...purely speculative..."

While people in Japan are playing the crap outta Super Smash Bros. Brawl and people in America are waiting to play the crap outta SSBB, people in Europe are waiting to find out how long they'll need to wait to play the game. As previously posted, there was a glint of hope when a Dutch gaming site claimed a June 6th release date was confirmed by Nintendo at the Macromania Games Awards in France. Not so! says Nintendo. A company mouthpiece for the UK arm says:


This is a rumour and purely speculative. Nintendo is yet to confirm any release dates for Smash Bros.


Well, at least you get Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii early. That should be proof that Nintendo doesn't totally hate you, Europe!

I played Brawl today at the Nintendo booth/large area, and I can tell you that the game looks WAY better than it does in Youtube vids... I only got a chance to use Link and Yoshi, two characters I normally used anyway, so I knew the B-moves and only had to make some minor adjustment for the A-moves for Link. Also I can't use the control stick on the Classic Controller for this game... it's quite imprecise! Good thing I have the SNES controller. I wish they had the D-pad on at the booth :|
