I like wired GC controllers, that was the only way to strangle people that were playing cheap in multiplayer games before the wii's nunchuck attachment...

anyway maybe the problem is with the sensor bar? I'm pretty sure the wiimote will disconnect if it doesn't get a signal from the sensor bar. At least thats what happened to me when I took the wiimote with me to another room because I was too lazy to take off the wrist strap.

The sensor bar is just four lights(two on each side), it doesn't give or receive signals. But the wiimote does shut off if there is no use for like fifteen minutes.

And it does not matter if it sees anything from the sensor bar. If you play Excite Truck, it blocks the ir camera on the wiimote, bit it works fine.
