I have a question.

How DO game consoles nowadays "Get dropped on the floor"?

All of them have wireless controllers now, so pulling the controller or tripping over the cable wouldn't be the problem.

Consoles are typically balanced in weight, not top heavy or anything, so that's not it.

They do not hang suspended in mid air unlike the PS3 ad or somebody having to hold it in order for it to work.

Rock Band, GH shit isn't wireless (nor does it have the xbox safety detach thing)

That's how mine dropped. My friend tried to tackle me... from a couch, and landed on a cord.

Because of all the reported problems, to most people the RRoD has become more alarming than it should be. Getting the RRoD once after a power outage doesn't mean your 360 has been damaged. It's just a general failure notice, and probably a one-time-thing.

It does appear so. The console seems fine - I was able to resume my Crackdown activities the following day!

you said it was a red ring, but was it the top left, bottom left, and bottom right quadrants, or something else?

It was the 3 quadrants you mentioned!

To the OP. It sounds like it got a power spike... I really wouldnt worry about it.

I was at my friends and there was a power surge and his elite red ringed. All we did was turn it off then turn it on and it has done it again and that happened in December.

consoles can get dropped if you are moving it, sometimes I will take my 360 to work, or to a friends. I have never dropped but nearly have once or twice
