ya but atleast it looks like they are making improvements. It's not what battlefield 2142 was, a rehashed bf2 with new character models. I think this one is really top notch and is gonna be a welcome addition to my xbox 360 but your right, it is EA so getting too optimistic could be a bad thing

Besides DICE is developing it. And they're good.

So, I got to play for the 1st time last night. My honest, unbiased opinion (which I know is hard to believe): I wasn't in the least bit impressed. I'm actually pretty disappointed because, despite my EA hate, I was actually looking forward to this game. I'm gonna have to play more before I can give a full impression, but as of now I don't have a very good one. Graphics are bad; physics are bad; shooting and killing is unsatisfying.

I know it. I want this to be good! The 360 is hugely lacking in the lots of players/huge maps MP department and this seemed like it would get the job done. I can deal with bad graphics, because I understand that for a game to allow a lot of players and big maps it has to tone down in other areas. The rest of it, though...it just didn't appeal to me at all. It didn't even feel satisfying killing people 'cause half the time it seemed like a crap shoot rather than having anything to do with skill. And a guy can take what seems like 30 bullets before he goes down. I was literally sitting there shooting at a guy who was 15 feet away and had to empty almost an entire clip into him before he went down. Then a tank rolled along and blew me away in an instant. Driving vehicles is also nerve racking, but being in the chopper was pretty cool. After playing COD4 or COD3, it's tough playing this one and honestly get into it. It just doesn't hold up at all to the best in the genre, imho. I truly felt like I was playing a bad PC FPS from the late 90's. Oh, but destructible environments and GIANT maps were cool! The maps are absolutely huge.

It's still a beta, so a lot of things will be changed/fixed. Also, turn the rumble up. It might make it a bit more enjoyable. How the hell do you fly the chopper? Like, I got in it, and then started to ascend, and next thing I know I was in the clouds, couldn't see a damn thing, and I think I might have been upside down. The I managed to find the ground, except I drove into it. Also, how do you use the parachute? That might have saved my ass when I was in the chopper (I bailed out, but I died from the fall/chopper plowing into me).

Do you agree or disagree with my pre-assessment of the game? I know they'll make stuff better, but by how much is the question? You can adjust rumble? As for flying the chopper...I have no idea. I just manned the guns! I tried driving a tank and ended up running into a bunch of rubbish that I couldn't figure out how to get away from. I bailed out and saw some guy sitting there staring at me. lol I don't think there is a parachute. At least, that's what I read on another site.

There is a parachute. All the BF games have had one. I've seen a mention of it somewhere as well. Rumble: There's an option in the control settings to make it stronger.

the lack of a kill cam in this beta is extremely frustrating, driving the vehicles is really rough too. I like it so far but i didn't think the graphics were that bad. I mean its the best looking battlefield game I have seen. the sound beats any games i have played though I think they have some lag issues because the servers are overloaded at the moment.
