I thought of what moosecakes was comparing and thought about each brand:

Sony == Covenant (all covenant do is take others technology)
Nintendo == Flood (so much stuff trying to take over the world with lil minions (aka all wii minigames and periphs))
Microsoft == Masterchief (basically a god)

Star Wars is the most mainstream Sci-Fi, but once you compare it to The X Files, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, or Babylon 5, the quality definitely isn't there.
