Not much has been known about the Nintendo Wii Donkey Kong title, but the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has shed some light on the matter.

According to a translation by PALGN, the game will use the Nunchuk and Wii controllers like this: Shake both the Wiimote and the Nunchuck to accelerate, shake one to steer into a corresponding direction, and raising the Wii remote and Nunchuk together allows players to jump. Players will also be able throw barrels among other obstacles, but the controls for that are unspecified.

Races will take place on sixteen courses which will be set across seven different worlds, and DK Bongo Blast will feature splitscreen multiplayer support for up to four players.

Japan will get the game first, the release date is set there June 28. No date has been given yet for a North American release.
